This extraordinary 1963 Motortown Revue Globe Concert Poster features an astonishing roster of future legends, including Little Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson & The Miracles, Marvin Gaye, Martha & The Vandellas, Mary Wells, The Contours, and Kim Weston.
Created by the iconic Globe Poster Company of Baltimore, this oversized Day-Glo masterpiece promoted a Chattanooga, Tennessee stop on the Motortown Revue tour on October 29, 1963. Packed with vibrant color, classic artist portraits, and hit songs like "Fingertips," "Mickey's Monkey," "Pride and Joy," "Can I Get a Witness," "Heat Wave," and "Do You Love Me," it captures Motown at the exact moment it was transforming American popular music.
Few examples have survived, making this one of the most coveted Motown concert posters ever produced. Heritage Auctions has only handled one other example, which sold for $27,500. For poster collectors, this is a true "once-in-a-decade" opportunity.
