Deception abounds in this dark and evil day, and one of the biggest deceptions that seems to be prevalent in many churches today is the doctrine of the secret Rapture of the Church.
This false doctrine fosters an escapist mentality that is dangerous for Christians. We must be ready when our Lord returns, because Jesus warned that the time of His Return would be likened unto the days of Noah and of Lot — and in those days it was the wicked, not the righteous, that were taken away.
If the early Christians were fed to lions, lit as human candles and burned at the stake, what makes the modern follower of Christ think he will be taken away to safety to escape tribulation? It is a deception of the enemy, designed to make God's people lazy. Don't fall for it.
There is no documented evidence of anyone teaching the Rapture prior to the 18th century. It is non-existent in Christian history prior that time. So why do so many Christians believe this lie?
