Quake has had many influential titles that are still talked about today including Quake 1, 2, and 3. Quake 4, however, doesn't get the same love or attention as the prior 3 titles. Is it really that bad of a game, or does it deserve a bit more focus?

Open q4base/Quake4Config.cfg in your game directory and look for this:
seta image_downSizeLimit "128"
seta image_downSizeBumpLimit "128"
seta image_downSizeSpecularLimit "64"
and change it to something less ridiculous, for example:
seta image_downSizeLimit "2048"
seta image_downSizeBumpLimit "2048"
seta image_downSizeSpecularLimit "1024"
