I’m not going to call myself a car builder just yet, but I’ve gotten a lot of experience building cars and trucks over the past few years. In that time I’ve noticed a trend. It’s an all out burn to get the vehicle done by a deadline. Once it’s up and running, I have to walk away for a bit and get it out of my head. Then, after a period of driving, I come up with a ‘list’ of things I’d like to perfect or alter on the vehicle. Once I feel I’ve recovered enough, I bring the vehicle in and implement the items on the list.
After that work is complete, I hope the vehicle is done. I say ‘hope’ because I’m sure there will be more to do at some point, but I wonder, if that is the best use of my time. Would it be better to just let some things go and move onto the next project? Or should I continue to tweak things till there’s nothing left to tweak?
