What is man's *chief* purpose? Why does God do what He does? We believe that man's chief end is to glorify God, and that all things exist to bring God glory. While immortality and eternal life is a subordinate purpose of God's—His *chief* aim is to glorify Himself. And this is good news! For God to glorify Himself is for Him to exemplify His attributes. In glorifying Himself, God displays all His goodness, love, holiness, and justice to the cosmos. The greatest conceivable good for us is for God to work all things for *His* glory.
