Columbus built LaIsabela, the oldest settlement in the New World, in what is now the Dominican Republic. I stopped there as a private excursion on a December, 2024 cruise. The local archaeologist helped me take some measurements. I followed the bearing of the government building Columbus built there… and the places it touched on its Great Circle… quite a statement of Columbus’ legacy… (that will be the subject of another video)
