Sponsorships on YouTube are a relatively new way for creators to make an income. As we all know, adsense can be fickle, so for many, sponsorships are the way that they pay the bills. However, sponsorships can often be much more than just a part of a video that we scrub past. As we begin to see more companies that primarily target YouTubers get exposed for allegedly being scams, the discussion around the ethics of these sponsorships becomes even more prevalent. Today, I’ll go through my feelings towards sponsorships, the issues that occur behind the scenes, and also some of the most notorious companies and their controversies.
