Seth Hart and Akshay Gupta (Ādi Puruṣa Dāsa) will be discussing and comparing solutions to the problem of evil from the Christian and Chaitanya Vaishnava (Hare Krishna) theologies.

The problem of Evil is a perennial topic of philosophical debate among theologians and skeptics. It challenges the faith of many and is a strong reason for many skeptics to remain skeptical.

Seth Hart is a PhD student in theology at the University of Durham under the Durham Doctoral Studentship. He holds graduate degrees in theology from the University of Oxford, Regent College, and Johnson University. His research focuses on the intersection of biology and Christian theology. He currently resides in Little Rock, Arkansas, with his wife and corgi.

Akshay Gupta (Ādi Puruṣa Dāsa) is a PhD candidate at Cambridge University. He holds a Masters degree in Religious Studies from Duke University and an undergraduate degree in Religious Studies from UNC-Chapel Hill. His research interests include Hindu Theology, Philosophical Theology, Caitanya Vaiṣṇavism, and the Problem of Evil. His PhD dissertation explores how the Caitanya Vaiṣṇava tradition's theological framework addresses the problem of evil.
