I wish someone would have told me sooner that the least selfish thing a woman can do is receive.
✨When a woman receives, the good just keeps going. ✨
We’ve been served this narrative for so long that we must only serve others and neglect ourselves, push ourselves to the limit and cram as much as we can into our lives as women.
I used to feel guilty, like I owed people when nice things would be said to me or given to me or my husband just did something wayyy out of his way for me.
I was afraid to receive attention, or compliments or anything really. It made me uncomfortable. I thought good girls were polite and that I shouldn’t need to be taken care of. I could take care of myself.
Ok but when we allow ourselves to be taken care of,
when we nourish ourselves, rest, savor, feel incredible
it’s not just good for us…
It’s beneficial for everyone around us. 💫
Because women are magic, we multiply everything. That’s just God’s design.
And the magic flows when we allow ourselves to receive, celebrate it, glorify God in it and then everyone benefits.
God said that it was GOOD for Adam to have Eve. Not a pain. He said it was GOOD, that it would rock his world in the best way. Not a burdensome one.
My husband said recently to me that he loves being around me because good stuff just always happens to me, and life is more fun.
Don’t get me wrong, I certainly have days when I get in a funk or try to do too much and I send myself into a stress spiral and it feels like everything just keeps going wrong 😂
But slowly… I’m learning how to relax and embrace the *real* power of being a woman, and it’s so fun. I want more of this for all of us.
The world is brighter because you’re in it. ✨
What have you received today? 💫
*wish I knew who to credit this quote from but so grateful for it. 🫶🏾
