Nepal has an increasing youth unemployment rate and a large outward migration of skills. With the global emergence of the green economy, it is key for Nepal to grow and maintain its own skills to support a greener future.
With funding from the British Council's Going Global Partnerships programme, Exeter College, Outsourcery Services and other partners in the UK worked with TVET sector partners in Nepal to establish the country’s first Green Skills Advisory Board.
By strengthening public-private partnerships, the board will help to enhance green skills training and support more inclusive employment opportunities.
This International Skills Partnership has also secured three memoranda of understanding between the UK and Nepal, committing to support the future transition to renewable and sustainable practices.
