Diana said something so helpful when you're trying to make peace with someone else's version of the story: “It makes sense.”

It makes sense that your child sees it that way based on his experience. It also makes sense I see it this way based on mine.

We’re both touching different parts of the elephant. Different angles. Different truths.

I don’t have to agree with him. But I can stop needing him to see it my way in order for my truth to be valid.

Making room for both doesn’t mean you're giving up your voice. It means you’re reclaiming your peace.
