Today I'll make a large custom tree in minecraft. This tree has a portal under it, but you can adapt it to be a nether portal tree. Just build the portal in the hollow.

You could also adapt it to be the entrance to an underground base. Or add a canopy and hide your base in the leaves. I've built this on the Vasten server to house a teleporter portal back to the old kingdoms. Plus, more than you wanted to know about Sacred Geometry.
