This is a somewhat short video on the history of the police baton and it's variants. It is not all-inclusive .. it's based upon my professional experience. I have used various baton platforms at work, mostly for breaking glass. I did use the ASP baton against a violent criminal after a vehicle pursuit, and once in a deadly force encounter. I did not like the results, as it had little effect in both cases... much like the Taser, but that's a different topic for a someone else to produce.
As far as the video request, yes I was issued a slapjack or blackjack as they were called, but was never trained with it. We were ordered to turn them in after only a couple of years. Never used it.
