SOURCE LISTING BELOW:

10 decades from 1910 to 2010, 10 songs, a simultaneous recording on three webcams of the most insanely naïve (emphasis on insane) perception of America, as seen through the native music of the delusional American dream. Also, this is my homework for the day for my digital class, I am at school, I went to bed at 5:45 AM last night, and I hope you all have a fantastic day.

SOURCE LIST:
Inter-spliced through the whole thing is a soundclip of Obama that I was given by my teacher. It was mandatory to use it this way.

EDIT: Here's my artist's statement.

"Nowadays, it's incredibly commonplace to be cynical of the goodness of America, or perhaps not even to care what America consists of at all. However, people are constantly being disarmed by one thing in life that consistently remains honest, trusting, and hopeful—one of the relics of the American dream—the love song. I believe that if there is one thing that represents what America ever stood for, it's music of expressively human joy and love. From 1910 to 2010, I picked ten different love songs from each decade to lead along the pledge. Yes, it might be a "sentimental reason[ing]" of things, but I believe this idealism is what we need to see more of--while not closing our eyes, of course. Love songs speak of things lasting "forever", of liberty in giving "every heartbeat" to someone, and justice in being "no one else's". Love is a fickle thing, and so these things are highly unattainable, much like the morals and ideals of our own country. But our entire life IS free in America—free to pursue such grand ideas as eternity, destiny, and coming together in unity—whether of matrimony, or fellow citizenship. It's an unabashedly optimistic outlook, but I believe it's welcome amongst the degradation, war and biting satire of other pieces.
