The Planes of Our Existence Part 4 with Sraddhalu Ranade continues the discussion of Chapter XIX from Sri Aurobindo's, "The Synthesis of Yoga". The first part of this offering comes from an April 26, 2019 talk given at Savitri Bhavan in Auroville, India. Here Sraddhalu explores two key sentences of Sri Aurobindo's writings within the chapter: 1) "Being, conscious force and delight of being are always the three constituent terms of existence". 2) "A world or a plane can only be the stuff of its own becoming". To heighten our understanding of these essential principles Sraddhalu draws from William Shakespeare's "Romeo & Juliet" and other models. The second part of the offering comes from a May 3, 2019 talk given at Savitri Bhavan in Auroville, India and here Sraddhalu discusses Sri Aurobindo's paragraph on the material plane of existence - its limitations and its necessity. To conclude the paragraph on the material plane, Sri Aurobindo writes: "If the material universe were all and the material plane the only plane of his being, then man the individual Purusha could never arrive at perfection and self-fulfilment" and therefore he concludes that there must be "planes, worlds and higher beings from which we can receive or be helped to knowledge, powers and joys."
