As part of the Escalante's project to educate people about Starfleet's role in the daily running of the Federation we've been Directed to Starbase Hephaestus
Hephaestus is a Starfleet Medical facility. One part long term convalescence, one part research station. It's also home to Starfleet "royalty." Doctor Elizabeth Nostrum was the station's first CO and her daughter Abigail, and granddaughter Captain Tara Jenner have followed in her footsteps. Life savers and risk takers, all. I studied Elizabeth Nostrum at the Academy, can't wait to meet her granddaughter. And my crew can't wait to have a little fun.
The crew's fun is cut short with a return of the plague the famous Elizabeth Nostrum cured. Conflicts about family legacy, espionage, and even ethical questions about a deadly disease crop up, threatening not just the station and the Kongzi, but the galaxy at large. The crew will have to track down the origin of this plague, all while avoiding infection themselves. Can the crew recontain a deadly plague, solve the mystery of its origin, and do so despite multiple factions working against them?
