In the summer of 1997, in the leafy surrounds of Manchester Airport, a pirate radio station of a completely different kind appeared on 87.7.

Its purpose wasn’t to get new music to the masses, but to get propaganda out there.

Its sole function was to stop the construction of Manchester Airport’s second runway.
