In this introduction to the June 23, 2001 Talking Circle at The Cambridge Multicultural Arts Center in Cambridge, MA. Connie Baxter Marlow shares her theory that the coming together of the visionary leaders of the Pilgrims and the Wampanoag Indians set the stage for the creation of the American Mind and the American Spirit, a radically different spirit and mentality from the European. The peace treaty that the Massasoit and the Pilgrims drafted and signed on their first meeting was upheld for over 50 years. She maintains that this coming together on such a high level set the stage for the coming of Peace on Earth as prophesied by the Native peoples. She introduces Thunderbird Turtle Woman, Donna Augustine, MicMac; Grandfather Thunder, Arnie Neptune, Penobscot; Wallace Black Elk, Lakota - Spirit Interpreter.
