We give a solution to the problem of showing that a general quadrilateral is the perspective image of a square, following the paper "The Image of a Square" by A. Crannell, M. Frantz and F. Futamura. [And apologies to Fumiko for spelling her name wrong in the video. ]

The key point is obtaining a point of perspectivity that does the job. Along the way we discuss the important connection between circles and perpendicularity, and at the end we indicate a subtle additional question to bring this problem into pure mathematics.
