Aaron Facer | The Personal Rules for Reading Tag | Parts 1 & 2 @aaronfacer | Uploaded October 2022 | Updated October 2024, 2 hours ago.
This tag was created by MJ from @M-J
I was very kindly tagged by Greg from @anotherbibliophilereads and @MicahCummins
This is part 2 of an open source tag, so you don't have to do all of the questions. You're more than welcome to start from the beginning of part 2 (from question 11).
Prompts:
- Part One
1. Do you strive to read everyday? If yes, do you do anything different or special to make time within your day? If no, why not?
2. Do you always stay within your favorite genres or do you experiment with reading different genres and sub-genres?
3. Do you DNF (Did Not Finish)? If yes, what was the last book you DNF'ed and the reason(s) why? If your answer is no, then what drives you to finish the book?
4. Do you like to read challenging books? If yes, what draws you to them? If not, why do you avoid them?
5. Greg’s Question: Do you read books that have been banned by local authorities?
6. CriminOlly's Question: Do you read books by authors whose views you disagree with?
7. Steve Donoghue's Question: Do you clear your mind of preconceptions and biases before you start a new book, or do you go in with axes to grind?
8. Steve Donoghue’s Question: Do you recommend books, if you end up really liking them? And if so, what form does that recommendation take?
9. Bill's Question: What was the last book you recommended? Was there a specific reason for that book? Do people come to you regularly for book recommendations?
10. Bill’s Question: What book have you had the most success in recommending?
- Part 2
11. Micah Cummins’s Question: Do you take notes or annotate while you read? If so, what form does it take?
12. James Holder's Question: How many books are in your personal library? How do you organize your books?
13. Jim's Question: Do you read books in languages other than your own?
14. Marilyn Maya Mandoza's Question: Do you have a rule around your ambience, or atmosphere when reading books? -- music, setting, indoor/outdoor, around people/alone, sitting/in bed, etc.
15. My Question: Do you have a set number of pages/amount of time to read per day as a minimum goal? If not, do you set a limit on how much you read?
