I recently did a playthrough and video on Mario and Luigi Dream Team's built in hard mode that you unlock after beating a save file- but did you that Bowser's Inside Story has a built in hard mode as well? By completing the Green Shell minigame in the Challenge Node, you unlock an equippable item called the "Challenge Medal". This makes enemies drop 1.5x as many coins, but it also increases their HP and DEF by 1.5x as well as their POW by 2.5x. Normally you can only challenge the Green Shell minigame after beating the Scutlet boss and clearing the flame pipe, but using underhanded means I have hacked my game to allow me to unlock it from the VERY beginning! So, let's find out if the true hardest Mario RPG was hiding behind this item all these years or if Dream Team Hard Mode is still more evil...
