David M. Kessler Fine Art | The Painting of "Red Rocks 4" @davidm.kesslerfineart1717 | Uploaded February 2021 | Updated October 2024, 2 hours ago.
I, like many artists, am fascinated by the desert southwest. For several years I have painted abstract landscapes of the area. This one is different in that I am using local color, which I rarely do when painting abstract landscapes. I love the orange color of the land in the desert southwest and how it combines beautifully with a clear cobalt blue sky. I have tried to provide that feeling here. I am hosting some Abstracting the Landscape workshops on Zoom, and I would love for you to join me - here's the link:davidmkessler.com/abstracting-the-landscape
