Buckle up as we venture beyond the asteroid belt to discover the four outer planets of our solar system!
First on our tour is Jupiter, the giant among giants! It's so big that all the other planets could fit inside it. Jupiter is a swirling ball of gas with a massive storm called the Great Red Spot—it's like a hurricane three times the size of Earth!
Next, we have the stunning Saturn, famous for its dazzling rings. These rings are made of ice and rock chunks that orbit around the planet. Saturn is also a gas giant, and guess what? It's so light for its size that it could float in water—if you could find a bathtub big enough!
Onward to Uranus, the planet that spins on its side! Uranus has a beautiful blue-green color because of the methane gas in its atmosphere. It's an ice giant with faint rings and is one chilly place, with temperatures dropping way below freezing.
Our final destination is Neptune, the windy blue planet! Neptune is an ice giant like Uranus and has the fastest winds in the solar system—imagine storms whipping by at over 1,200 miles per hour! It's so far from the Sun that a year on Neptune is 165 Earth years long.
