Hello friends,
recently I received a package from Portugal, and it was the Orpheus 1 card! If you are on Vogons you might have read about the Orpheus. It is a brand new 16bitvPnP ISA soundcard with SPDIF/OPL3/MPU support.
The features of this card are great - but the sound-quality is even better!
The analogue output is so clear, powerful and noiseless - It is a true pleasure for me as a FM-enthusiast to listen and to record pc-games-music at this level of quality. (I recorded from many soundcards and i know what I'am talkig about)
Components seem to be well chosen - you won't find many cards with Nichicon gold-caps - and the PC-Midi intelligent MPU401 interface is what I always wanted for my Roland RA50(MT32). So my conclusion is that this card will be placed in my main retro pc with pure pleasure :-)
In this video I chose one of my favorite tune from Descent - its level 18 music. SRS is turned off and FM is set to OPL3 here.
