Madame Clicquot or Veuve Clicquot, known as the "Grande Dame of Champagne", was a French Champagne pioneer and visionary. She took on her husband's wine business when widowed at 27 and under her ownership, and her skill with wine, the company developed what we now know as champagne.
She is buried in the Ponsardin Family Crypt in Canton 2 at the Cimetière du Nord in Reims, France.
