This song was created in 2004 by Australian musician The Orichalcon for a remix competition (in the OCRemix scene). If I remember correctly the original tune was from Chrono Trigger, but the remix is so different I couldn't hear a resemblance. The song also appeared in the mmo-esque multiplayer mod of Freelancer as one of its soundtrack songs.
Anyway, the guy was/is waaaaay underrated and I knew that back then, so I have been carefully preserving this song ever since. My google-fu tells me that this song isn't really available anywhere anymore. So I had to upload it for cultural preservation purposes.

The original of this is MIDI music that was used in the HEROES.WAD and EP4B.WAD, mods for the 1993 Doom. Goes under the name of kabbalah.mid and new-age-music-demo.mid. Later used as the music of E1M1 of the insane Mr. Smiley Heads Safari hacked together total conversion mod for Doom itself having stolen a lot of maps and music from the above two WADs.
