Every flagship phone has a compromise, but the OPPO Find X9 Ultra makes that compromise surprisingly hard to find. This is OPPO’s first Ultra model launching globally, and it arrives with the kind of hardware that makes the usual Samsung, Apple, and Google playbook feel a little too safe. A massive camera system, a 7,050 mAh silicon carbon battery, 100W charging, a 144Hz AMOLED display, and Hasselblad tuning all come together in a phone that feels more like a camera with apps than a phone with a good camera.
In this review, I break down what the Find X9 Ultra gets right, where it still stumbles, and whether its huge sensors, 10X periscope zoom, 3X telephoto, ColorOS 16 software, and optional Hasselblad Earth Explorer kit are enough to make you rethink your next flagship upgrade. The camera system is genuinely wild, the battery life is a real advantage, and the global availability changes the conversation in a big way.
There are still tradeoffs, from micro scratches on the display to software quirks, low light shutter lag, and no official US availability. But for anyone outside North America, this might be the most interesting flagship phone of the year. Would you leave Samsung or iPhone for the OPPO Find X9 Ultra?
