In the Introduction to Electronic Engineering Technology class at Okanagan College students are required to complete an electronics project of some kind. They are given a lot of flexibility in choosing their project and most build something with an Arduino. The project does not have to be an original design, but students do need to understand and explain the design.
Geoff's "Simon" game is his own version of the old Milton Bradley game. It uses an Arduino Mega,LEDs, push buttons and a custom built case. The game has three levels of difficulty, easy, medium and hard. The level can be selected at the beginning of the game and determines whether 2, 3, or 4 flashes will be added to the sequence upon a correct guess. Geoff wrote all of the software himself and uses noise on anaog pin 0 to randomly select the flashing sequence.
How to play: Simon will flash a sequence of lights, then you must successfully repeat that sequence by pushing in the corresponding buttons. After each successful guess, more flashes will be added to the sequence.
