Nintendo spent forty years building up to this and then dropped the Ocarina of Time remake on November 5, two weeks before GTA 6, like it's nothing.
I watched the Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct live and I did not hold it together. The orchestra opening, the first look at Aonuma actually playing it, the voiced cutscenes, Link jumping — I was gone. And then the collector part of my brain woke up and started adding things: $59.99 digital, $69.99 physical, a special edition Switch 2 on October 29, a Pro Controller, a Collector's Edition, a real ocarina you can play along with, and amiibo in 2027 that unlock masks in a game you already paid for.
So this video is both things. The nostalgia rush is real. The pricing conversation is also real. We're doing both.
In this one:
— Full reaction to the Ocarina of Time remake gameplay reveal
— What the new art direction and controls actually change
— The live-action Zelda movie finally has a title (and a date)
— The 40th Anniversary Switch 2 and whether it's worth the jump
— The amiibo mask situation, which we need to talk about
If Ocarina of Time was your childhood, pull up a chair. Tell me in the comments where you were when you first walked out into Hyrule Field. I want to read all of them.
