Alex Filippenko was recently the principal speaker on a cruise to the geographic North Pole, where he completed the North Pole Marathon (running 26.2 miles on the frozen ocean). He will share photographs and stories about the midnight Sun, atmospheric phenomena, stunning landscapes and seascapes, and numerous kinds of animals including polar bears and blue whales.
