A real witness account from Scotland involving a mysterious bedroom entity, reported paralysis, a strange burnt-paper smell, and an unexplained message believed to have come from a recently deceased grandmother. One of the most unusual documented paranormal cases from East Lothian.

In February 1997, a woman identified only as Angie awoke during the early hours of the morning in North Berwick, East Lothian, believing she had simply woken from sleep. Within moments she realised she was completely unable to move. Although fully conscious, she found herself paralysed as a small hunched entity, standing around three feet tall, silently watched from beside her bed.

As the mysterious figure moved closer, the witness reported an overpowering smell resembling burnt cardboard or scorched paper filling the room. Then came the most extraordinary part of the encounter. Angie did not hear spoken words. Instead, she experienced what she described as telepathic communication, delivered in a mechanical, unnatural voice inside her mind.

The message was brief:

"Gran says do it in the morning."

Just two weeks earlier, Angie's grandmother had died. At the time, Angie had been delaying an application for what she considered her dream job in Edinburgh. She later became convinced that the message was connected to her grandmother, somehow delivered through the mysterious being standing beside her bed.
