This video explains the “normal force” and helps build an intuition about what causes the normal force. It also discusses how to draw basic force diagrams or “free-body diagrams” to represent the forces exerted on an object.

A series of demonstrations are performed and discussed to help build an intuition for how solid surfaces are able to actively push against another object.
