After spending the last four months using the Nikon ZR in real-world situations, I wanted to step back and share an honest status update — not a spec rundown or a first-impressions review, but how this camera actually fits into my workflow.
I originally picked up the Nikon ZR because of its ability to shoot R3D in an incredibly compact mirrorless body. Coming from years of working with the RED Komodo, I was looking for something smaller and more flexible for travel, content creation, and lightweight filmmaking — without giving up image quality.
