The new Half and Half is here! The Steel Guitar Half and Half features major upgrades to the original circuit. After 10+ years of feedback from steel guitar players, I finally managed to fit everything my customers have been asking for into one combo or amplifier head.
This new version features my Milkman speakers which are faithful reproductions of either the K120 (alnico) or E120 (ceramic) drivers. I also have a lightweight Neodymium version of the speaker. The combo can house a 12" speaker or a 15" speaker (again - Alnico, Ceramic or Neo) and still power an external cabinet. There is no need to match the speaker load when using an external cabinet (or two cabinets, if you have the head version). Each output has its very own amplifier which can drive 4/8/16 ohms independently of the speaker in the cabinet.
The balanced studio grade XLR Direct Output is on the back of all versions of the combo (and head) and has separate level control.
I also added an Output level control (master volume) so that players can freely adjust the volume and tone controls in the preamp and get their tone dialed and use the output control to transparently raise and lower the overall power.
