PD Howler 2023 comes with a new Sky Filter, which generates volumetric clouds which cast shadows on eachother. It runs on GPU.
The clouds cast shadows all the way through the volume onto other clouds. Casting rays through the volume is very expensive. At sunset where the sun rays are parallel to the cloud layer it will take the longest time to render.
