LEGO Lord of the Rings is becoming incredibly expensive. With Rivendell, Barad-dûr, The Shire and Minas Tirith already costing hundreds of dollars, the latest rumours of a $200 Prancing Pony, Oliphaunt and potentially a $700 Helm’s Deep have me seriously questioning where the theme is heading.
As a huge LEGO LOTR fan, I love these sets, but does LEGO really need to keep making such expensive Lord of the Rings sets? And what about fans who simply can't afford them—or don't have the space?
