Have you ever wondered how your muscles contract?
Everyone, listen up! I’m gonna teach you the facts
Motor neurons and muscle fibers connect and then
The neuromuscular junction is a ten out of ten

A neurotransmitter called acetylcholine
Fills the synaptic space and then two ends meet
Nicotinic receptors and the ACh
Begin to bind together on the motor end plate

Once inside the sarcoplasmic reticulum
Calcium is released, and now we’re almost done

Muscles contract due to a mechanism
Where your filaments slide, but due to this song’s rhythm
I can’t talk about all that, but hey, now you know
That neuromuscular junctions are the way to go!
