Here is one even hardcore Nintendo fans tend to forget. Anticipation came to the NES in 1988, and Nintendo billed it as their first ever video board game. Think Pictionary crossed with Trivial Pursuit, all on your TV. Now here is the part people get wrong. You are not the one drawing. A little video pencil slowly connects the dots to reveal a picture while a die ticks down from six, and your job is to buzz in and guess what it is before your friends beat you to it. Guess right and you move across the board, and the longer you dare to wait for a better die roll, the more chance someone else swoops in first, which is exactly where the name comes from. Fun fact, it was made by Rare, the same British studio that would later give us Donkey Kong Country and GoldenEye, with music by their legendary composer David Wise. The ad even riffed on Nintendo's famous slogan by calling it word power instead of just power. Had you ever heard of this one?
