Napoleon, recognizing the potential pitfalls of such a massive campaign, decides instead to maintain a neutral stance toward the Russian Empire. This decision spares France from the disastrous consequences that, in the original timeline, would have weakened Napoleon’s forces and led to his eventual downfall. Without the strain of a Russian invasion, Napoleon’s empire remains strong and resilient into the mid-19th century.
