There is one version of the vision in the grove in Joseph Smith's own handwriting. It is not the story we have been told in our church history and traditions. The handwritten account by Joseph Smith himself was cut out and removed from his journal book, hidden in a safe for years, kept from the people. But why? Perhaps because it changes the very nature of "Who is Jesus" to agree with the Book of Mormon and not our own church traditions regarding the nature of God. This also effects our traditions of teaching on the afterlife and different glories in heaven.
