This discussed the well known Mueller-Lyre illusion, and leads to some thoughts on how our pre-reflective understanding of time and space influence how we think we look. It is aimed at colleagues with whom we are reading Thomas Fuchs's excellent "Ecology of the Brain" book, but it might be of more broad interest.
