On March 29, 2026, Railtown 1897 State Historic Park in Jamestown, CA, hosted @DynamoProductions-trains for a steam photographer's special which consisted of three special photographer's special runs with a lot of great opportunities to shoot photos and videos of a train behind historic Sierra No. 3, a 4-6-0 that earned its keep on the Sierra when it was one of the area's key transportation modes, and also became a world-famous movie star, appearing in dozens of television and silver screen classics.
The morning session included a prototypical example of the train that ran on the Sierra Railway, with coach No. 2 and "shorty" No. 6 with several photo run-bys in a few locations. The afternoon special consisted of a mixed train with yet more run by opportunities, and the evening session consisted of a run by past the world famous water tank as well as a night shoot in the yard with period actors "on the set" just like the old days!
