Thoughts about the recount in the 2022 election for Alaska state senate district E, between Giessel, Holland, and Cacy. One of the losers, Cacy, had no reasonable chance of winning, but they did a recount anyway.
I noticed this strange situation myself while working on another project using vote data from the 2022 AK elections.
The full vote data for these elections is available here: elections.alaska.gov/election-results/e/?id=22genr
though it takes some work to process and analyze. I have code to help, which I will release when my larger project is finished, hopefully before the end of Summer 2024.
