Much of the focus of modern occultism is on developing abilities in magic, manifestation, divination, astral projection and the construction of magical tools such as the wand, cup, sword and pentacle, with rote learning of kabbalah and holy books along the way. But there is something more valuable than all those things - the refinement of the prima materia of our worldly self into the gold of the most spiritually elevated version of ourselves. There is one text in particular which gives us a crash course on how to accomplish that. In this video I give a reading and review of that text - 'On the General Guidance and Purification of the Soul' or for Thelemites, 'The Book of the Balance'.
