My Kawai BS-30 upright piano.
Yes, I’ve got a dozen great piano sample libraries in my DAW—some of them arguably sound “better.” But nothing compares to the creative spark that comes from sitting down at the real thing. It invites play, exploration, and emotional honesty in a way no plugin can.
It wasn’t cheap. It required real sacrifice.
But if you’re serious about making music for a living, I think an actual instrument—especially a real piano—should be one of your first big investments.
