Another morning, another day...
In this digitized society.
Wake up, drink your coffee, log in...
Swim a few more laps in the sea of endless information...
The waves of data, never stop crashing,
the ocean gets deeper,
and we all become drops, drifting, swirling, riding the currents,
we write the code, and the code rewrites us
waiting for that tsunami, to bring it's devastation...
Everyone who contributes is also the product,
To sign the user agreement, means also being used...
Maybe social engineering is nothing really new,
it's only become faster, more decentralized...
The cacophony of voices, manic media, sharing, liking, creating, buying...
Every person, in some way, trying to find the right combination of electronic signals,
to get through, to someone, for some purpose...
And in the midst of it all, we are inevitably faced with the same, stubborn firewalls...
When it comes to pinpointing the perfect access codes,
to break through,
and reboot the meaning of it all...
There is no hacking the human heart, it would seem...
No way to simply press the right buttons, to make someone fall to their knees,
As oppressive as this technocracy undoubtedly is, I confess that sometimes I wish it were that easy...
If we could simply know all the bugs in someone's program...
and correct them with a few keystrokes,
restore the right connections,
and make them see the Light...
Yet ironically, the reason that we all naturally despise being herded like cattle through the gates of this meta-data factory farm,
is the same reason that there is no algorithm, no formula, that can flip the switch inside the soul, and bring them to the point of Repentance...
We are not machines.
Not mechanical animals with a reset button,
not biological computers, with a control/alt/delete...
It is because we are something wholly unique, in all of creation,
human beings with true free will,
that makes us so incredible, so special, one day even higher than the angels,
that also makes us so agonizingly exasperating,
when some just keep on choosing to stay disconnected, from the One connection that truly matters...
