On April 26th, 1986, the world’s worst nuclear disaster began unfolding inside Reactor No. 4 at Chernobyl. But what makes Chernobyl truly terrifying isn’t just the explosion itself… It’s what was captured afterwards.
The frantic emergency phone calls from operators who had no idea a reactor core was exposed. The haunting photographs physically damaged by radiation. The liquidators sent onto radioactive rooftops with little more than lead aprons and shovels. The evacuation announcements that calmly lied to an entire city while invisible poison filled the air. And deep beneath the reactor ruins… the Elephant’s Foot, one of the deadliest objects ever created by man.
In this video, we’re going to examine some of the most disturbing recordings, images, and footage connected to the Chernobyl disaster. Many of the people you are about to hear and see did not survive the consequences of what happened that night. This is the horror of Chernobyl.
