Quick update from the outskirts of Milan: autumn vibes (rainy, grey, cold) after a hot summer, and I’m back from a long August with the family, full of vibe coding energy to help editors.
In this episode:
- FCP Cut Finder updated — new underlying algorithm for much better speed and accuracy

- Fixed non-integer FPS issues (29.98, 23.976... NTSC, I blame you 😉) — Final Cut time quirks finally handled
- New larger preview window to spot false positives easily
- Removed complicated analysis settings — now it “just works” for newbies and pros
- Tracked down a serious bug: strange characters in folder paths could break analysis — still investigating edge cases

Ciao a tutti! Si avvicina il periodo dellanno che, come molte di voi sapranno, segna il ritorno delle mie congiuntiviti nervose. Oggi parliamo dellanno che sta per concludersi, un anno che avremmo potuto fare meglio, ma che ci ha insegnato tante cose.
In questa puntata, vi racconterò alcune riflessioni sugli eventi recenti, tra cui il brindisi per la mia collega Antonella e la mia esperienza professionale in un mondo in continua evoluzione, influenzato dallintelligenza artificiale. Che dire, i tempi sono cambiati, e non so se il mio lavoro sarà al sicuro nei prossimi mesi.
Per chi è curioso, alla fine del video ci sarà un riepilogo con la sigla storica di questanno: “Superhero of the Computer Rage” degli Inflames. Sarà l’ultimo assaggio musicale di un 2024 un po strano. 🥳

Today, as I grab a bite to eat with my wife in the picturesque beauty of Italy, I want to dive deep into a little side project thats been brewing for over a year: my secret storyboarding tool, aptly named Story. 🚀
In this video, Ill explore my personal journey with this app—developed solely to meet my own needs as a director—which, I must admit, is unlikely to ever be polished enough for commercial release. Well chat about the philosophy behind Story, why Im creating it, and the many lessons learned along the way.
Ill also share experiences from my past commercial projects, offering insight into how storyboarding has evolved for me and how it’s crucial to the storytelling process—even for low-budget productions. Expect some real-world examples and a candid discussion about the trials of client demands, brand approvals, and much more!
