We use acronyms sometimes as a shorthand for gender identity, since often times trans and non-binary characters dont have a chance to say how they identify in the series. Here are the common ones we use and what they mean.
CIS: A cisgender person is a person whose gender identity matches their sex assigned at birth
AFAB and AMAB: Acronyms meaning “assigned female/male at birth” (also designated female/male at birth or female/male assigned at birth)
TRANS: Transgender people have a gender identity or gender expression that differs from the sex that they were assigned at birth.
