This is the moment officers caught Sylwester Krajewski after he murdered Clive Porter on 26 April last year near to the Grand Union Canal, Aylesbury.
Yesterday Krajewski was sentenced to life imprisonment and must serve a minimum of 35 years.
When arrested Krajewski gave false details to hide who he really was - a convicted murderer from Poland who absconded in 2005 and had been on the run since.
Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Andy Shearwood of Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime Unit, said: “This was an unprovoked and violent attack on Clive, who was going about his daily work. He could not have known who he would be confronted by that day and the level of violence he would be subjected to, leading to his death.
“My thoughts remain with Clive’s family at this difficult time.”
